New furniture is often expensive and when upgrading to a larger house, sometimes it takes time to include pieces you truly love – And with kids, it’s often not worth the investment of new furniture until they are older. After years of using TV trays as side tables in the kids playroom, Kim of Sand & Sisal, decided an upgrade was in order!
With four kids, she didn’t want to invest alot of money, so while on her many thrifting excursions, she came across two 60’s era Mersman end tables on casters! A serious problem was later discovered… they wreaked of decades of chain smoking – YUCK! Kim set out to strip, prime, and transform the side tables into sleek and modern pieces that will be around for years to come, and maybe even after the kids leave the nest. To see the steps that Kim took to transform these horrid to beautiful side tables, visit her at Sand & Sisal!
